Why?  I put a 16v Scirocco A/C rad in my '81 Rabbit convertible, just 
had to drill one hole for a peg in the x-member, used one of the 
stock ones for the other.  Is a '79 THAT much different?

And yeah, I used the wacky 3-way hose.
