Re: [sunroof] parts needed, pleeeeease somebody help me....

You have tried Potterman, right? :) I've got my sunroof apart right now,
but I can't picture the parts you're talking about. They have made changes
to the design of the cables. Well, not the cables, but the cable end which
slides on the roof guides (makes the roof tilt and retract). Dang, language
is tough when you're trying to describe sunroof parts, huh? I bought new
rail guides (tracks which attach to the inside of the car), but the new
cables seem to slide in the old guides. The new cables slide a lot easier
in the new guides however.

I've been tinkering with my roof now for several weeks. My sunroof hasn't
worked for three years and I finally decided to fix it. I was getting tired
of all the water flooding the car! Two of the hex nut pems were pulled out
(the ones that hold the small cover plates in) and one of the big sheet
metal screws that holds the track to the car had pulled it's hole bigger
too. I'm trying to JB weld some nuts in the holes left from the pem nuts.
I also added JB weld around the sheet metal screw openings in an attempt to
get more "meat" around these points for the screws to tap into. I might
just have to use a larger screw.

That's the fun of sunroofs!
