The conversion hassle here is with the fuel lines and mounting of the FPR. On 
the Passat/Golf 2.0-16V- the FPR is plumbed in with threaded, vs banjo 
connections-- it is also installed horizontally-- in a bracket that won't fit 
a driver's side conversion. You can use a CIS-E bracket, but be prepared to 
fiddle with the fuel lines a bit.

The main idea is safety when you convert those lines. The pressure side of 
the FPR sees fuel at almost 100psi. Being the less adventurous type, I had a 
local hydraulic shop source the correct line and do a pressure crimp-- this 
may not be necessary, but it sure does wonders for my peace of mind.
