RE: Pressure plate info



ok, I just went through this exact situation with Peter a few weeks ago....

I have an FF tranny mounted to a 16v engine.

I had the 8v setup all the way, i.e. clutch, PP, and flywheel.

To 'upgrade' to the Satch combo, just get a 16v flywheel and you're good to
go. The Satch kit WILL NOT fit inside the smaller 8v flywheel. I think the
diameter on the PP surface area is 8.5" (for the 16v version).

Autotech sells a Sachs "sporttuned" clutch kit for the 8v...  It's
(apparently)  a 16v pressure plate with an 8v clutch disk, so, if they're
not the same, are they at least compatible?  Somebody confirm this, because
I'm not sure at all about this.
