Drop in the drivetrain out of a late model Camaro (LT-1 350, 6-spd) and save
yourself a million dollars on parts and gas, and be faster between
stoplights while you're at it.

A buddy has a 1978 with this combo and it is fast, reliable and gets 26 MPG
hiway. Hard to argue with. Plug-n-play kit with harnesses, mounts,
driveshaft and everything was about $1500 plus a junkyard motor/tranny. He
has less than $8k total invested.
