Re: O2 sensor voltages?



Couple of thoughts:
If you only have a single wire O2 sensor then the A/F ratio will vary quite
a bit for a given voltage depending on exhaust temp. ie how hard you're
running it. A 4 wire sensor would give more consistent readings if you want
to do some real tuning based on these readings.
My nephew's VR6 Passat goes right to .8v and stays there under full
throttle. Whether that's best for max power, I don't know.
I just bought a Haltech and while investigating how to tune A/F ratio,
basically I was told get a 4 wire O2 sensor and then do a calibration run on
a dyno against a Horiba wide band (acurate sensor). That's the only way to
correlate a specific output voltage to A/F ratio.
