"New" 16v

Well, now that I'm FINALLY getting my scirocco back, I have some things to
think about. I've already gotten Euro lights (ebay), and I'm looking around
for Euro bumpers (US specs are coming off after emissions testing). On the
mechanical side I've got a 2008cc block being built (slowly). Euro side
markers are the next to come I think since they're cheap.
Current 16v is a 1.8 out of an 88 rocco. New distributor, new coil, 4K
tranny, new 16v plate, new 8v "sport" disk, new belts, hoses, and almost new
w/p and c/v's. The engine itself has about 160K miles on it. It's been
sitting (started a few times in the past week) for about a year or more.
Prior to install, compression ran 160, 160, 160, less than 90. Now it's fine
(I figure a stuck ring). What would be a good way to get this engine broken
back in and used to running? I started it on Saturday, and didn't notice
any smoke, idled and revved REALLY well ("ohboyohboyohboy").
The donor car still has the lower brace that I'm planning on getting. I want
to pull the kit off of it, although I'm still not sure if I'm going to use
it. How do I get that bugger off without damaging the it itself? Would the
booster and MC be good to get off of it (rear calipers are frozen, front are
gone, so not getting those)? What else should I look into getting out of it?
The interior is basically gone, except misc little trim pieces. I'm taking
the door panels (no chrome, me like). Also, how do I go about getting the
title for this bugger?! I bought it from a friend, who has since moved. The
car was his, I know him and his sister (it was originally hers, bought new).
But the title was never found (not the best paper keepers these people), and
now I need to get rid of this shell.

Well, that's long enough. Thanks!
