Well neal I thought the same way but I was proven wrong the other week
seems there is a KAMEI X1 Body kit MADE to fit perfectly the US bumper (the
cut is different on the corners)
anyways... My body kit is not thin plastic, but thick red plastic. with VW
part #, Perhaps I got an original X1 85 VW body kid made by Makei
afterall... GRIN
