Hi,
I replaced my cam followers in my DD, the 83 Audi 4000, with an 87 Fox
motor. The ticking did not go away.  I am assuming that it is a bad
bearing. Is there any point to putting the old ones back and keep the
new ones on the shelf for another day(motor)? There is 400 - 500 miles
on the followers. I guess the motor is getting replaced.
On a good note, my wife agreed that an engine lift was a wise and
justified expense!
