hmm. Me thinks he's right. Esp thinking from an Engineering point of view.
( I was repeating what my old man told me a longish time ago.,... not his
fault tho.

SO just to reason this out. If I have a very large heat sink with lots of
heat stored radiating it tho conduction of a fluid. unless you pour cold
water on it (this could be the source of the fallacy. ie. if it was
raining and you had straight pipes coming out of a flat head motor. water
gets in it and poof...
