81 purchase

  Hey folks,
just got the 81 home,,,well barely. It kept wanting to stall
at the lightsand did a few times. It idles at like 500 or
somethin. What should I do to get it running better?
tweak the distributer or the throttle cable?? Any other
ideas? Everyone has already been really nice and helpful.
