Mentioning the Fox reminded me of another VW with automatic in the under
$2000 range.  The Quantum...basically an overgrown Fox...and it's made in
Germany not Brazil.  Quantums can be found fairly cheap and the 5 cyl. ones
actually have quite a bit of power.
