Re: V/C Gasket Sealant



This is just preference but I never use sealant on my V/C gaskets.  I use to
use some silicone at the junctions of the rubber to cork on the 8v valve
covers but since I have been working exclusively on VWs, I have stopped that
also.  I just make sure the surfaces are very clean and install!!  I figure
that when that gasket gets hard and brittle it isn't going to matter if
there is sealant on it or not, its gonna leak!!  HTH!!
