Re: Meaning of the term NOS in parts ads?



That term is New Old Stock.  I means that the parts are new and unused, but 
they are old.  e.g., If I had bought a set of new factory wheels for my '78, 
say back in '79.  I put them away and never used them, one day I decide to 
sell them and pull them out.  I could sell them as NOS.  They're New, but 
they're Old and they're Stock.
