Re: RE: Velocity 16V Cam setup/260 intake cam with stockexhuast?

Kris from Velocity actually faxed me the dyno print outs from his various experiments. He clearly writes on one of the printouts that the Euro intkae w/ the Euro cam is the best streetable combo until 6000 rpms. It may not give you the most absolute hp and torque, but it gives you the most useable. If you are looking for all out power, then the Euro intake and cam are not the best combo, but how many of us spend significant time above 6k rpms?

Of course, all the tests were with a 2.0L w/ mildly ported 1.8 head and TT header running on a Motronic system.

well the EC article sucked but they tested 6 different sets of cams and some
combinations the 260in and 276 out was the best for keeping mid range torque
and high rev power. I dont understand either why they wouldnt come like that
from the factory if it was a truly ideal setup. My only guess is that on the
Velocity car it proved ideal with the particular mods that were done. The
euro intake cam is a 253 right? I wonder if one could just buy the 260
intake cam and use it with a stock exhaust cam?

So, what are the benefits of the combo cam set up supposed to be, anyway?
I've got a pair of 260s in my car right now. I haven't a clue as to how
they'll perform because I haven't taken the car out for a hell ride yet.
However, I'm always thinking ahead as to how I can get MORE!

Yeah, what is the 276 bumpstick supposed to do? And why wouldn't the
engineers at Schrick have designed the system that way? There's got to be a
compromise in there somewhere. Have a clue as to what it is?
