I got my '84 Scirocco with GTi engine
( 1.8l - 1:10 compression, solid lifter, engine code DX )
90.000 miles on it for $150.
The GTi engine runs good, I like it much
better than the usual JH,
but gas per mileage is worse than on my 16v.

as a side note I got a new interior for my 84 GTX
( front & rear seats in good condition
from a 1990 Scirocco GTII )
from the junk-yard yesterday, for $100 only !! :-)))

forgot to get the nice GTII door-panels,
have to go there again tomorrow,
and hopefully they're still there..

Does anyone have any input on what a fare price would be for a 1.8 8v from
an '84 GTI?  Not shure of the engine code, but i know it is stock with the
mechanical lifter heads.  It has around 100k on it and is solid as a rock.
The price would have to include the whole thing including the altinator,
waterpump, intake and exaust manafolds, clutch, flywheel, and wheel you get
the jist.  I have somone intrested in it but really have no idea as to what
it is worth.  Thanks.
