Is you 3" system on your Rabbit or your
Scirocco? There may be more clearance on a Rabbit or a Mk2 'Roc.
I've got no problem with the 2.25" on my '79, but I don't think 2.5" would
fit without a fight. The only real tight spot is the over the axle
part.

Naw, 2.25" fits pretty
good. I'm not saying to use it, but just saying that
it fits. The only
problems I have run into in terms of fit were with 3".
