RE: smashed window, help w/ replacing

Hi!

I've done this couple of times, as I happen to
live in a country where my car is under attack
once in a month.

It's not hard it'll take around 30 minutes to
install a new class if you do it right.

The procedure would be:
Lower the broken class into half way down
Remove door cover
Remove 2 polts holding the broken class into the lifter
Remove the old window and pieces of it from the door
Remove things that hold the calss in its rails (3 pieces)
Now you see the place from where you can slide in the new class
using some creative positioning
Reinstall those 3 things back into their rails between the class
and the rail (its the hardest part to get those 2 lower ones back)
Install the two bolts that hold the class on the lifter
If you can see if the class moves freely and closes without
any help (my class used to need some help on high speed closing
when not installed properly)
reinstall door cover and you're done!

Subject: smashed window, help w/ replacing

My car was broken into last night. Someone smashed the drivers side window
(NOT the little triangular one, but the large one) and took my stereo.
While I am pissed off, it could have been a lot worse, as there was no
damadge to the car besides the broken window and a missing stereo.

I have replacement glass, but have never had to do this. Anybody done this,
have any tips on replacing the glass?

Car is 1988 MKII w/ power windows.

TIA

Victor
