Was: mis after rocs in the fog Now: help- headhasket/ head repair.

I found out today my mis isn't ignition related.  the compression check 
showed leakage between the 2nd and 3rd cylinders.  So my choices are: pay 
this shop i'm at $80 and hr. to do the head gasket/investigate further into 
larger problems or try to brave this myself (with little in experience and 
even less in tools) or move back to pennsylvania because i'm almost broke 
out here.
If anyone knows of more reasonable shops in the bay area or would like to 
help in anyway please do, i need some transportation to work.
