installing rear transmisison mount

I am replacing the front and rear motor/tranny mounts and have run into a 
problem. when I jack up the rear of the bellhousing for the trans, I can 
slide the mount right it. but when I go to lower it, the top two bolts stop 
the trans from lowering into the right position. does this make sense to 
anyone? 

how about this... when I jack up the trans, it goes up and towards the rear 
of the car. so when you lower it it goes down and towards the front... of 
course... but when it goes down, it hits the middle of the top two bolts, 
instead of lowering directly on top of them. 

can anyone help?
