spun bearing...damage?

i picked up an 84 gli that i was told had a siezed motor (1.8l
JH)....(stood on a breaker bar on the crank and it wouldn't budge)....after
pulling the head, the cylinder walls look perfect, and i was able to get
the crank to turn (but not very freely)......i finally got ahold of the
original owner and he said that while his wife was driving it, it started
to knock and then locked up.....so i'm guessing it spun a bearing........is
it possible that i can just replace the bearings, or does this usually
damage the crank too much to do so?.....i plan on pulling the connecting
rod bolts this weekend and i will know for sure, but i was just trying to
see if anyone else had any experience with this situation
