Cam interchangeability

Ok guys/gals, I have a cam out of a '91 G60 Corrado sitting on the shelf in 
my garage. I have been informed that it is a 268 that Nospeed offers for an 
upgrade in an A3 2.0l engine. Is this a fact and if so how would it work in 
a '91 1.8l GTi engine. Gain? No gain? opinions please...
