Actually, it would be a lot of work to put the 944 motor in an old 924.  The 
front crossmembers are different and they will not interchange easily.  
Cutting and welding must be done to the unibody, brackets/mounts must be 
fabricated, and you have to use mostly 944 pieces up there.  If you like the 
924 and want the 944 motor, save your pennies and get a later 924S.
