The dasher is a very versatile vehicle.  It was "Sport-Utility" before there 
was such a thing.  The diesel isn't much on the sport side, but, if it was 
well maintained, should last a long time and run cheap on fuel.  Their weak 
point like most early VW/Audi's was the wiring.  If you're used to German 
wiring, it's not bad at all.  I've been thinking of trying to find a Quantum 
Wagon (maybe even a syncro) as a family car.  A Dasher in excellent condition 
with working A/C would be an option.
