Actually both are correct, 1 US Gallon is 4.54 L whereas 1 UK Gallon is 3.78
L.  So conversions are all going to be different.

I think the best measure in this case would be mi or km per tank of gas,
then specify which size of tank.  I know my tank is about 48 L or 12.7 US
Gallons.  I get 300 km per tank.    HTH
