No power under 4.5 k solved new motor on its way!
Thanks for your help guys but I found out today that my motor needs some
TLC. After checking the dist cap and wires and knock sensor I did a
compression test. After almost losing my arm with cyl 1 and 4. I didn't think
a motor could shoot a compression tester that far. I have really good
compression off the scale at some points at 300 + psi, now when I check cyl 2
and 3 I get about 50 psi.
You might have guessed I am saddened by this. Well, I have to crack open
the block and see if is rings or valves this time. So now I'm stuck driving
my jeep which I can't stand until my Impreza shows up. But it does mean I can
weasel shop space and tools to build an even crazier motor.
I have the dual throttle bodies and intake I just need a 16v head and 2.0
bottom end. Any one have any of these sitting around with no internals. I
just want bare head and block. I have everything else basically sitting
around the house and shop for my 250+bhp naturally aspirated motor. Just
saving up for the Haltech and I'm set.
Oh yes I need new brakes. In the process of playing Rally driver on some
muddy dirt roads last night and just getting the brakes to glow red again I
think I killed them. One to many glowing sessions. I found a couple of cracks
on each rotor around the drill holes. SO anyone have any luck with RPI's
Willwood Kit or any other big break set ups that would let me keep my 15's?
Later all
~Danny~
