Runability

I have a really strange problem.  I have actually ran this through the list
once before but I think only one person responded and even though what they
said helped, it didn't fix the problem.  I have a 1.8L 16v in an A1 and
everything seems to work fine except for when I accelerate from a stop, at
about the same rpm in any gear the power just seems to disappear at around
3-3500?  I know it is probably something simple, but was wondering if anyone
had any ideas.  The tune is fine, and the distributor is ok (no heavy oil
leaking), it is in time and the connections to the computers are ok (which I
do have the 16v harness (entire) with the fuse box and both computers).  I
have a scanner to connect inline with the computers at work and I may do
that tomorrow.  TIA!!! LMK!!!
