Yes the Taro is a Toyota with a VW badge. In the 80's VW needed a "truck"
and Toyota
had a good one. The Caddy is more of a car than a truck. Toyota wanted to
expand
its market share so it looked like a good deal for them. VW worked with
other companies
too but the Taro is a clear case of badge engineering.
