No, Ayham, you are wrong.  

"Short block" is the standard term for an engine sold without the cylinder 
head.  "Long block" is the term used for a complete engine with head.  What 
you are talking about is referred to as the "tall block" which was the later 
2.0 engine.  It was called the "tall block" to differentiate it from the 
older standard height blocks with the 136 or 144 mm rods.

If you go to a salvage yard and ask for a 97 "short block", rest assured you 
will get a "tall block" without a head on it.
