Redline, Which One?

Where I work, we carry Redline MT-90, MTL, and 75/80 (or something like
that).  I have been told by the owner that the MT-90 goes into the
longitudinally mounted trannys (bugs, buses, vanagons, foxes, etc) and the
MTL goes into the transaxles.  How true is this and does anyone actually
KNOW which is to be used in the transaxles?  It may just be opinion or what
you are running for oil weight in your car, not sure.
