Why on Earth would you need to downshift to 1st gear at that high of a
speed?
If you're engine braking, STOP. Unless you've got fading brakes that is
the
sloppy and dangerous way to slow down. If you're looking for more power
you'll
get it with the lower gear but will lose your advantage with the time it
takes
to shift to 2nd. If this is just a matterof daily driving then I'm
really
perplexed.

The bottom line is that you're going to put a hurtin' on your synchros
if you
keep that up and you won't be going any faster.
