Yup.

The only thing that can really be said is that if you let the car run til it 
got warm, then pulled the plugs and they were blacker than sin, you're 
definitely getting too much gas.  But if you're trying to crank it for a 
while, and pull the plugs they can get black.  Usually if your mixture is 
okay the blackness will burn off when the car warms up.  Have someone check 
the exhaust when you give it WOT, if it spurts black smoke that could be 
another indication of too much gas.
