Well you could use a mirror from a MK1 Scirocco or a Rabbit.
The two are not the same at the base that mounts to the door.
The base will need a shim or two. You would need to fill
the old mirror mount. You can get non powered
MK2 Scirocco mirrors from Europe. Some one was working
on a Passat B3 mirror swap. You can go with some aftermarket
mirrors from the D&W catalog.  I would just get the non powered
MK2 setup.
