Re: MKI for sale, or tech help needed



I had this problem with an 86 Jetta after I changed a heater hose!  I had knocked loose a ground wire and disabled or confused the computer that controls the frequency valve, causing the engine to run very lean, if it ran at all.  I don't know the exact details of your fuel system, but I think all of the CIS systems with oxygen sensors could act like this if the electronic controls are not working.
