unwanted heat

Hey everyone,

Lately i have been noticed that my 16v rocco gives off some extreme heat 
from under the dash.  It is ok when the engine is cold, but after she warms 
up if you are wearing sandels your feet will catch on fire!  All the heater 
controls are off but the heat keeps rolling out.  It is quite anoying when 
it is raining and i have to drive in 100deg weather with the windows up and 
the heat blasting.  Anyone know what could be causing this?  Thanks!
