...bought the 16V

well, as announced, I bought the 16V this evening,
it's a red 1988 with "PL" engine.
Engine & transmission are great, but the
outside looks neglected, some dents,
damage on the right fender and the rear hatch .
As the car is quite dirty, I can't tell at the moment
if the paint is that dull or if it's just the dirt from ages.

The inside is quite clean, seats are O.K., dashboard has no cracks,
and fortunately no speaker-holes in the rear deck cover.

shocks are totally shot, worn tires on steel rims.

price was 800DM / $400 which was really cheap
for a running 16V with regulated catalytic converter
here in Germany.

so overall rating :

+ good engine
+ good tranny & clutch
+ catalytic converter
+ clean interior
+ good price

- poor outside appearance
- worn tires
- shot shocks
- no State Inspection ( TÜV )
- real mileage not known ( clock shows 400.000km)
  which is unrealistic, seller claimed 200.000 what is more likely.

I will put the cat & control-unit to my convertible,
what will happen with the 16V later is not yet clear.
