Well not to create an argument but IME 6 point sockets have been my saviour 
many times. I have felt a bolt/nut start to strip with the 12 points and 
then put my trusty 6 point on it and it will come free. Where do you live? I 
know we dont see THAT much rust in the NW but exhaust nuts/bolts do get 
rusty anyway. I have had much success with the 6 points. To each his/her own 
I guess.
