Re: dynoed a 2008cc motor

Hang on, though-- you did a lot more than just put on a 2.25"
exhaust. Downpipes can create huge power gains, and knocking off the A/C
compressor and the PS pump will give you quite a few extra HP just from
reducing drag on the belts. I read a while back (don't know where, so I
shouldn't even be quoting), but an A/C Compressor (turned OFF) can rob
2-5hp at the power peak. Ditto the P/S pump. So my bet is you gained 5hp
total by lopping those off, and probably 12 from the downpipe and exhaust
combo. Putting a 2.25" cat-back exhaust on a car with 2.125" header tubing
does squat.
