Question: are all 16V distributors the same. Will one from a Passat simply 
bolt onto this Scirocco 16V head?


Answer: From what I know and have been told is that the 1.8l has been 
superceded to the 2.0l part # and the 1.8l dist part # is no longer valid. 
Long story short; yes it bolts on just fine and will work fine. HTH
