POP! goes the engine

Well well well, looks like I have an early incentive to start my motor
swap right away. I had an eventful day today at the race track while
competing in the season finale Solo1 event.
The day started off great, when on the 3rd lap of the first practice
session, my muffler ripped off, shooting across the track in corner 5,
almost taking out the corvette and mustang bustin my ass at the time. So,
after that I just had to put up with an incredibly LOUD car, it was actually
kinda cool when on the racetrack, not so on the streets. Anyway, I made it
through the 4 timed sessions with nothing more than a little ringing in the
ears. Good times, no more probs....I was pretty happy. Now its time for
fun runs.
So I grab a lid for my friend and hit the track. about 10 laps in,
BOOM, white smoke everywhere, car sounds like death, grumbling and popping
and shit, (all this at over 120kph coming on to the back straight). Man, it
must have looked awesome, like one of those catastrophic engine failures in
F1 :) there was a huge cloud behind me, smoke pouring in the vents... it
was awesome. So I shut'er down, coasted to a run off area and popped the
hood. coolant and oil everywhere...man, we were laughing our asses off, it
was sooo cool.

had this been any other day, I would have been mad as hell, but I think
this is my car telling me it needed attention, the muffler was getting old
and burned out, sounded like garbage... and I have an engine sitting in the
garage that I've been meaning to put in all summer, but I think the car was
getting impatient, and this is its way of telling me, do it now, or I'll
kill you, or something along those lines.

anyway, moral of the story, pay attention to you car, or it will
come back and bite your nads off, or whatever you have.

So, as of today, let the engine swap commence..I'll post another
message about the swap
