I'll go along with that.

So, perhaps late 1981S models came with this wheel?
This is an item of great curiousity to me. 

Every 1981 Scirocco S I have seen (including the ones
on the dealer floor in 1980-1981)(many) came with the
"standard" Scirocco alloy. Since you bought it from
the original owner, do you have the original window
sticker? What is the build date on your car?


I should still have the info on my original 1981 S,
and of course I can check the info on my "new" 1981 S
. . .

This also could be an item where VW just decided to
start delivering the cars with a various wheels in
1981. It is very curious . . .
