"BERLIN (AP) _ Volkswagen celebrated its 100 millionth car  Tuesday _ a
silver "New Beetle" made in Mexico.
Board member Klaus Kocks said the jubilee car was a symbol of  how far
Europe's biggest automaker has come since the company's  beginnings with the
1938 introduction of the original Volkswagen.

VW marked the event with a street party at the famed Brandenburg  Gate in
the heart of Berlin."

Reuters further reports that of the 100 million cars, 72 million came from
VW, the other 28 million came from Audi, Skoda & Seat.
