Not to open the can o' woims but lets start w/ this-

What state (if a big state maybe what part) is the alleged seller?

You might get get back a fellow list members who might want to knock on
the door- in a friendly manner mind you, but to show that you are not
just some email address, but a real person.

With a wake up call most will comply. I have had to delay some
transactions my self. It makes me pause before  jump in these days with
all my good intentions. Nonetheless, you should not get stiffed in this
way.
