4spd/5 spd shift pushrod

does anyone know for sure if the long shift rod (attached to the bottom
ofthe shifter, and extends to the relay rod that has the rubber ball on
the bottom ) is different on 4 spds and 5 spds?......i'm still having some
shifting difficulty on a car i converted from a 4spd to a 5spd..........



main problem is that the longer of the 2 shift linkage rods hits against
the rear tranny mount bracket when attempting to shift into 2nd (and to a
lesser extend 4th)

i've done lots of adjusting, with not much sucess......only thing left is
to try and loosend both front and rear engine mounts and tilt the engine
back a tad (not sure if that would help, and dont want to put undue stress
on the side mounts)
