Christopher has been working hard on fixing the problem. Heres what he
said to me when I enquired about these "ghost" messages.

I have received emails previous to yours and have been working on several
leads, apparently none of which have solved the problem. I still suspect
that the problem lies in that when the mail agent is shut down and
restarted, it doesn't remember where in the queue it left off. In other
words, say it sent out email to 100 of the 270+ people on the list and
gets restarted. Upon restart it forgets it's already delivered to the
first 100 and starts from the begining.

This morning I have made another "upgrade." The mail agent from Exim2.05
to Exim3.03 (www.exim.org) and I hope this will solve the problems.

He's trying to fix it but so far he's not having any luck. 

So we just got to bare with it until a solution is found. Until then,
keep deleting! :)
