RE: 16v tranny machined itself! (parts)

A little clarification: 

The self machining seems to be limited to close ratio 020s starting
with the 1983 model year.

The only close ratio that I'm currently running is the 9A in my Golf
GT, which has 217,000 miles on it.

It's a toss of the dice as to when it'll happen with the close ratio
trannies.
