The fine are of timing




Hey all,

I have been having a little trouble lately (surprise!)
with my engine pinging like a mo-fo. 

So I set the timing yesterday to what I think is spec
(3 degrees) so which way do I go to stop the pinging?
Do I go back toward TDC or contuine away from it? 

I have a 2.0 that is I would assume a high compression
ratio. No knock sensor yet. 

I just wanted the general opinion on what is the right
way to set this thing.
