sensor in head of 16v?

Hey all,
  I got to look at Rich's new car today and help fix it the drives side front 
strut had come loose, but anyway while i was there i compared  his wiring to 
mine and fixed my cold start problem i hope, we'll see in the morning ... but 
too the point, there are 5 sensors on the drivers side of the head two below 
the water outlet with multiple, wires got them figured out, one around the 
corner on the back of the block, oil temp i think? and then there are two 
right above the water outlet on the side, the rear one is the correct one for 
me to plug onto right?  what is the front one for?  it was not originally in 
the 2.0's head but i installed it with the swap but have no wire to go to it 
and neither does Rich's car?  What's up with this thing?  Anyone know?
