Brake proportioning valve question

I've heard everyone say for the 16v brake swap you need to use the 16v prop
valves and not the 8v ones.  Does anyone know why?  Is there a difference
in front/rear braking bias on these two cars?  I have both but just don't
see why there would be a big difference.
