Re: fleecing of automobile owners

That was the whole answer that we came up with in the three month
study...run as low octane as you can without any ping. Other than that its a
waste. unless you have done mods to your car it will run fine on 87 and its
bull if you believe otherwise. Anyone who says you will lose HP with 87 if
you are not pinging has been fooled into believing this fake lye. I have
seen dyno figures with cars that actually ping like crazy. We had a dodge
diplomat in a ford asset garage dyno and it actually had 30 more HP when it
pinged to the point it barely ran. But now would I run it like tho NO
because it is not good on the car. But Hp was lost on every car even when we
added .5% octane. Not just one car ALL cars lost by then. My 8v did less
with about 91 octane than it did at 87. My 16V did the best at 76% octane.
Unless you have upped your compression to the point you ping run as low as
you can.. We did a study on 50 cars started from 50 octane all the way up to
110 on some. And the results were that ever car had more HP at 87.
